Title: 'Romans 15:13 - HOPE'

Title:'HOPE'/Acryl - Visual Prayer Art by Rev.Bola
'Hope'
A slippery slope
At the end of my rope
Pushing the envelope
Hope against hope.
Poetry by Rev.Bola A (3.4.12)
----------------------------------------------
I wrote this poem exactly a year ago, at a time when I was reviewing my life goals.
Now as I look back I see that much of what I had hoped for has actually been fulfilled.
For this, I give all thanks and praise to God, the Holy Spirit, and to my Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
Hope is....
....one of the 3 main elements of Christian character.
1 Cor. 13:13_ So these three things continue: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.

It is joined to faith and love, and is opposed to seeing or possessing

Rom. 8:24-24 We were saved to have this hope. If we can see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People don’t hope for something they already have.

Hope is an essential and fundamental element of Christian life, so essential indeed, that, like faith and love, it can itself designate the essence of Christianity.
1 Pet. 3:15-1But keep the Lord Christ holy in your hearts. Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have.
Heb. 10:23-23 We must hold on to the hope we have, never hesitating to tell people about it. We can trust God to do what he promised.

*In hope the whole glory of the Christian vocation is centred. (Eph. 1:18; 4:4).
*Unbelievers are without this hope. (Eph. 2:12; 1 Thess. 4:13).
*Christ is the actual object of the believer's hope, because it is in his second coming that the hope of glory will be fulfilled. (1 Tim. 1:1; Col. 1:27; Titus 2:13).
*It is spoken of as "lively", i.e., a living, hope, a hope not frail and perishable, but having a perennial life. (1 Pet. 1:3).

Hope is.....

....the feeling that what is wanted can be had, or that events will turn out for the best:

....to feel that something desired may happen:
....to place trust; to  rely on something happening.
Hope is expectancy, longing, anticipation, trust, confidence, reliance; faith, (belief); affiance, assurance; secureness, security; reassurance., promise, good prospect, bright prospect, assumption, presumption; anticipation (expectation). buoyancy, optimism, enthusiasm, heart of grace, aspiration.

Brethren,
What do you hope for today?
What is the longing in your heart?
What do you anticipate, what do you trust?
What are your desires and expectations of life?

Romans 15:13  _ 13 May the God who gives hope fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Peace and Light Rev. Bola
